Woodyside Community Tour

The New Garden/Guilford College Community Alliance will host a tour featuring the historic African-American community of Woodyside. At 9:00 a.m. Max L Carter will introduce the story of John, Mary and Waldo Woody at their graves in the New Garden Friends Cemetery, 801 New Garden Road, Greensboro, NC.
The tour group will then drive to the Woodyside community on Hibler Road for a brief walking tour. At 11:00 a.m. the group will assemble at Persimmon Grove AME Church at 403 Dolley Madison Road for a conversation with long-time Woodyside residents – Theresa Meacham and Gertrude Upperman.
